College Prep

Mom with daughter

We are committed to helping adults succeed in college. Don’t let fear of failure, or of being unprepared, hold you back. College Prep will build on the skills you have – preparing you to pass the college entrance exam, and to succeed in your college level courses. >>

What is the College Prep Academy?

The College Prep Academy (College Prep) is the first step for most participants. Subjects covered include: reading, writing, math, critical thinking, study skills, and test taking skills. The goal of College Prep is to get our Participants ready for college as quickly as possible. To be successful, Participants will need to commit to studying, and be prepared to fully participate in an intensive learning environment.

How Do I Know if I will need to start in College Prep?

College Prep might be your first step if you:

  • Graduated from high school but have not kept up your reading, writing and math skills.
  • Took a college entrance exam but did not pass all portions.
  • Tried to enroll in college but were told you would need to take remedial classes (basic reading, writing or math).

If you’re still not sure if you will need College Prep, don’t worry! During the application process you will take a test that helps us determine where you should start.

What to Expect

College Prep holds two sessions each year, starting in January and August. Participants attend class Monday through Friday, for 16 weeks.
