Program Director Michelle Paul has 20 years of non–profit, human service experience in the Houston, Harris Country area. Ms. Paul has a Bachelor of Science in Human Service from Springfield College. As the Program Coordinator, Ms. Paul oversees the day–to–day operations to meet the short and long-term goals of the organization. This includes managing program operations, staff, and maintaining relationships with training institutions and agencies partnering with Capital IDEA Houston. In addition, Ms. Paul works with the Deputy Executive Director to promote the organization’s workforce development and impact strategy to best serve the greater Houston community.

Career Navigator Annica Gorham, a native Houstonian, joined the Capital IDEA team in 2010 with ten years of experience as an organizer, fighting for dignity and respect for low-wage workers and their families. As a Career Navigator, Annica works with Houston Community College students to acclimate themselves to campus life, access social services provided by community partners and intervenes to solve problems as needed. Annica works directly with students with career goals in the Health Sciences and Skilled Trades, helping them to excel academically and become job ready.

Career Navigator Melissa Nunez has more than six years of experience in case management and a Bachelors Degree in Human Services from Springfield College. As a Career Navigator Melissa helps participants successfully access training and services, monitors participant progress, and intervenes to solve problems as needed. Melissa works individually and in group settings with her caseload of approximately 50 students. During group sessions she teaches participants skills that will help them perform academically and become job ready.

Career Navigator Nolan DavisWith over 20 years of experience working with individuals belonging to a diverse age range, from kids to adults, is a graduate of Texas Southern University. He began his career as a middle school coach and high school athletic scout. As a Supervisor for the Fifth Ward Enrichment Program, he was instrumental in developing Houston’s first Fatherhood Initiative Program and providing guidance to at-risk youth. Over the past 10 years, Nolan has worked in employment services, performing progressive assistance to displaced workers, youth, and individuals with barriers. Along with his bachelor’s degree, Nolan holds a Level 2 Workforce Expert Certification, Mental Health First Aid Certification, and Interviewer Facilitator Certification. Nolan is married to Dr. Carolyn M. Davis–they have three children (Ashley, Nolan, and Sean Davis.
