Please note that we do not have a rolling enrollment policy and process applications in accordance with college start dates. Wait time for info sessions may on occasion be several months.

Attend an information session. Our eligibility team will provide an application link at the end of the info session.
Upon completion of the application, you will receive an email from Social Solutions with a link to a secure portal where you can begin uploading your documents.

We accept documents on an on-going basis. In order to process your application in a timely manner, we recommend submitting your documents within a week of attending an info session.
The application process depends on how quickly you provide all required information. Upon uploading all the necessary documents, the remainder of the registration process should take no more than two weeks.

● If employed, all pay stubs received the month prior to the month you attended the info session. (For example, if you attended an info session in July 2023, we require all pay stubs for the month of June 2023).
● High School Diploma or GED
● College Transcript (if applicable)
● Proof of any Educational Loans (if applicable)
● Proof of Grants you accepted (FAFSA/Pell Grant, TPEG, etc.)
● Leasing or Housing documents
● All Household Members (related by blood or marriage) identifications & Income documentation for month prior to you attending info session
● Support Letter (if applicable)
● Estimated Monthly Expenses (self reported)
● Resume
● Healthcare Acceptance Letter, if applicable
You will hear from us within two days of submitting documents. Our staff will contact you to schedule your eligibility appointment.

You will be asked for TSI scores if you are not currently enrolled in a program or if your GPA does not meet the minimum requirements for your training program application.
We consider DACA applicants on a case-by-case basis. If you meet all of our other eligibility requirements AND your DACA paperwork has been processed and you have your social security card, you do qualify.
Capital IDEA Houston does not pay for out of district fees, however, you may still be eligible for sponsorship.

Please contact the admissions office of the school you are interested in attending to ask whether your address is in their district.
Not only do we help pay for tuition towards college degree or short-term training programs, but we also provide wrap-around services, such as a Career Navigator, tutoring, and case management. Furthermore, we provide connections to resources to overcome challenges to achieving academic success.
On a case-by-case basis, financial assistance is provided to individuals who have obtained a degree or certification but face challenges in securing employment. Eligibility requires demonstrating failed attempts at finding work in their field, supported by relevant documentation. We understand that degrees/certifications don't guarantee job placement and aim to support those who have made genuine efforts. Each applicant's circumstances and job search evidence are carefully evaluated. It's important to note that assistance is not guaranteed due to varying funds and eligibility criteria.
